St George’s Theatre, Great Yarmouth – Case Study

As Great Yarmouth’s only all-year-round theatre, St George’s is an incredibly important feature of the town. The building is central, close to the beach and shops, and is a beautiful piece of architecture that adds to the area’s charm. Unfortunately, its spacious outer boundary was appealing to locals and visitors looking for a quick place to park.

The requirement

The theatre team and Great Yarmouth Borough Council reached out to us at Rhino Security to help with the unauthorised parking situation at the theatre. People were parking their cars on the theatre’s outdoor boundary, creating a danger for pedestrians and an eyesore for the community.

The solution

We were appointed to work with the theatre and council to provide the solution. We did this by supplying and installing over 110 Manchester bollards, which mirror the traditional cast iron bollards and perfectly suit the theatre’s aesthetic. These bollards act as a barrier, so no cars are able to park around the theatre. 

Six Eastgate benches were also supplied to improve the appearance of the outside area and create a beautiful and relaxing space for the community to relax in, without fear of cars.

This project took two and a half weeks to complete, and positive results were seen immediately by the theatre staff and locals.
